Activities
Petrovac through culture and the coast
Before you go
Check the date of the exhibition, screening or performance at Crvena komuna. If you are interested in the permanent exhibition, ask about visiting conditions rather than relying on an old event announcement.
Suggested order
Visit the accessible outdoor part of Kastio, stroll along the waterfront and set aside time for whichever institution is open that day. Plan a meal in the centre according to where you are and your taste.
If the venue is closed
Replace the exhibition with a shorter walk or move the cultural visit to another day. This is an independent editorial suggestion, not a booked tour or a guarantee of entry.

Kastio and Lazaret
Kastio and Lazaret mark part of the Petrovac waterfront by the harbour. In the 16th century the Venetians built a fortress with a garrison and storehouses, while the neighbouring Lazaret served for quarantine. The name Kastel Lastva has remained part of the place's story.
Crvena komuna Memorial Hall
Crvena komuna Memorial Hall combines local history with a contemporary cultural programme. The institution includes the Marko Krstov Gregović gallery, a memorial room and a cinema hall, while the open-air amphitheatre is also used for music events. For the current exhibition, use the institution's direct contact.
Roman mosaics at Mirišta
The Roman mosaics at Mirišta bear witness to late antique Petrovac. According to the museum institution, a fragment depicting three fish with a shared head, discovered in 1902, has not survived. A larger mosaic discovered in 1941 is divided into twelve panels with geometric and plant motifs; the museum tentatively dates it to the mid-4th century and links it to the beginnings of early Christian art.
